The project consists in a 125,000m² Basement podium of two stores that host parking spaces and retail premises. Above the platform, 130,000 m² of apartments on 739 units are located in diverse sorts of 4 story blocks, creating a "Italian villa" landscape. The units vary in size from 80m² to 600m² on 7 typologies regarding the number of bedrooms and duplex or simplex spaces. Even though the units types are repeated, each building reveals a singular combination of units and the facades have been designed to break the pattern, which makes each building unique. The Steyn City project will host 5,000m² of retail spaces on the podium and some residential blocks on the ground floor. It is phased in 23 portions and each portion will be individually documented on different timeframes. All foundations has been already build, the basement and podium structure for portions 1, 2, 6 and 7 are currently under construction and are due to be finished by the end of 2015.
Corbis Studio assists Boogertman and Partners during the construction stage, in the development of the Revit models of architecture and structure for 15,000 sqm of portions 1, 2, 6 and 7. The scope includes the production of approximately 500 sheets.
