The project consists of the development of the Second of three Phases of the Housing Master Plan. Phase I (Pitzer, Sanborn, and Atherton halls) was comprises of 323 beds and approximately 13,500 sf of Academic and Central plant space. A shift in the number of beds from Phase III to Phase II modifies the Master Plan and Phase II will provide 300 beds and approximately 16,000 sf of Academic Spaces. The Phase II Site (to the north of Phase I) connects Phase I with the Outback to the north. To the west the connection to the main parts of the Campus is somewhat limited to the area of the existing Pitzer service Fire Lane, desert garden portion of the arboretum, and the community farm gardens east of the Grove house.
