The Project: Century High School

Project Description

This project consisted of the Century High School, located in Alhambra, California. This high school is part of an Alternative Education Program in the Alhambra Unified School District. Century High School is a California Department of Education designated Model Continuation High School. The school provides a focus on career education, counseling, and flexible schedules. The continuation school completed a $2.8 million renovation on its campus at 20 S. Marengo Ave. The new campus features the latest software and telephone systems, a new public address system, and a large courtyard with outdoor teaching spaces. It also is equipped with new computers, a new administration building, and a new entry and drop-off point. The project is comprised of three main buildings. Building A is the Administration and a computer classroom. Building B is the Classrooms building, while Building C is the cafeteria building. The BIM management project also included an outdoor sculpture patio, the main courtyard, lunch yard, and a basketball court.

Scope of work

This Educational sector project in the United States had a 16,598 sq. ft. gross floor area and a total site area of 44,728 sq. ft. Century High school was a low-rise type of building and it was a remodeling project. Our studio was in charge of providing production management support during the Design Development stage as well as developing the Construction Drawings set, which is the foundation for construction documents at the building site. CorbisStudio was also in charge of making the changes per City comments, up to the final approval and consultants coordination.
