The Provincial Energy Company of Córdoba (EPEC) conducted the pre-feasibility study for the placement of panels for photovoltaic use on the roofed surface of the Kempes Stadium. This stadium, formerly known as Estadio Córdoba and popularly Estadio Olímpico Chateau Carreras, is the biggest in the Province of Córdoba, Argentina. The concept design stage of the photovoltaic system consisted of a uniform distribution over the entire roofed surface which will transmit a distributed load to the structure. The development was carried out by the Provincial Energy Company of Córdoba (EPEC), as part of a new work located in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. The structural studio was in charge of providing the necessary support points to transfer the loads to the foundations before starting work. Part of our work process involved interacting with calculating engineers to coordinate the design geometry with that of structural support.
The BIM scope (modeling and documentation) of our studio consisted in developing the executive architecture file using BIM technology (Revit 2018), for the 3D modeling of the project and the technical documentation of the file. The number of plans was stipulated in the initiation meeting and was raised in the "List of Plans". The 3D models of electrical structures and installations were further developed according to the information of consultants and references of manufacturers, to verify the interferences and resolve them in the design stage. We generated a “BIM Room” where the team of designers regularly held meetings to review and solve the problems that arose from the clash detection analysis. The modeling was prepared to visualize the designs and to be able to obtain a count of identifiable quantities of objects, unifying the parameters with those of EPEC calculation/budget to synchronize the progress of the project with the tender file. Our involvement occurred in the following stages: - Preliminary design. - Detail Development. - Construction Drawings. - Administrative Procedures. - Technical direction. - As-Built drawings.
