The Project: SummerHill Communities

Project Description

SummerHill Apartment Communities is a Mixed-Use development located in Santa Clara, California and designed by Studio T-Square. This project is aimed at providing high-quality housing near jobs and transportation to improve the living standards of people in the area. It sits on a 1.67-acre site at the intersection of El Camino Real and Chestnut Avenue. The company behind this housing development is SummerHill Communities, a homebuilding division of Marcus & Millichap Company. This is the parent company of a diversified group of real estate companies in the commercial investment, service, and development businesses. The design incorporates the use of brick street walls, which are designed to mimic traditional storefronts in scale, materials and detailing. The construction process was to begin in early 2019. The final building will feature 1 and 2 bedroom apartment homes above the retail space. In total, SummerHill Santa Clara will count with 174 apartments. Regarding the residential amenities, the development team has accounted for a leasing office/lounge, club room, cyber café, fitness studio. But it also contemplates bike “hubs”, a “dog lawn” adjacent to Centennial Way Trail, pedestrian lobbies and more.

Scope of work

Construction Drawings and Schematic Design of Revit and AutoCAD BIM models. This project has CorbisStudio taking the Entitlement SD Set for a mixed-use structure and converting it from AutoCAD to a REVIT model. Our work included developing a defined number of sheets matching the work on the SD package and a preliminary Index of Drawings. We provided full Delivery Partner support. And for this project, we included in our scope the modeling and documentation of following items for SD: exterior elevations- Interior courtyard elevations, floor plans, general sections, and site plans.
